The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors provides leadership, stewardship, and strategic guidance in support of our mission. Together, board members help ensure that MVYSO remains a welcoming and thriving community.

Meet Our Board Members

Michaela Jackson
Board President | Serving Since 2018

Michaela has served on the MVYSO Board since 2018 and is passionate about supporting the students who make the organization so special.

With a long history of leadership and volunteer service through organizations such as PTA, Girl Scouts, and substitute teaching, she is dedicated to creating opportunities that help young people learn, grow, and succeed.

Kristina Preedy
Board Secretary | Serving Since 2015

Kristina brings years of experience supporting youth and arts organizations. After serving on the board of a local community choral group and as President of the Tahoma Band Boosters, she joined the MVYSO Board alongside founder Elisa Lewis. Kristina believes deeply in the power of music, community, and youth development.

Outside of MVYSO: Kristina enjoys traveling to Disney destinations, attending her sons' baseball games, tackling home improvement projects with her husband, and preparing for her newest role as a grandmother.

Jeremy Cook
Member At Large | Serving Since 2024

Jeremy Cook joined the MVYSO Board to help ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive through their orchestra experience. His son, Romeo, has participated in MVYSO since 2021 and has performed on violin, saxophone, and piano. Jeremy is committed to supporting the continued success and growth of MVYSO students and families.

Outside of MVYSO: Jeremy can often be found officiating basketball and soccer games throughout the Seattle area.

Michael Meyer
Member At Large | Serving Since 2023

Michael Meyer has been a lifelong lover of classical music. He is married to a cellist and raised a French horn player who performed with MVYSO. Michael believes in the power of music to inspire, enrich lives, and foster a deeper appreciation for the world around us. Supporting opportunities for the next generation of young musicians is one of his passions and a key reason he serves on the MVYSO Board.

Outside of MVYSO: Michael is an executive with The Boeing Company and enjoys woodworking, flying, and landscape photography.

Adrienne Valenza Thorson
Member At Large | Serving Since 2026

Adrienne is an interior designer and business owner with more than 20 years of experience in luxury residential design and project management. Her work has fostered an appreciation for thoughtful leadership, community involvement, and creating supportive environments for families. She is passionate about supporting programs that help young people build confidence, develop meaningful connections, and grow through enriching experiences.

Outside of MVYSO: Adrienne enjoys designing homes, gardening, and exploring the PNW with her family.
