SUMMER CAMPS

FULL ORCHESTRA CAMP

FULL ORCHESTRA CAMP - Our studentts will be divided into 3 playing groups.  They will be sorted according to playing experience on registration along with  other factors including, but not limited to, private lessons, music reading ability, etc.  We will error on the side of placing the student in a group that might be too easy.  If the student feels their group placement is too easy or too difficult, they will have the opportunity to look at the music for a different group and decide to move up or down on either early music pick up day on August 2 or on the first day of camp.   All students will also have smaller group coaching. *The group listings below are only guidlines.

JAM CLUB SPECIAL NEEDS CAMP

This is a Music Therapy Based Music Education Camp for students with special needs in grades 2* and up.  The camp is run by our Music Therapistand our Executive Director (also a Recreation Therapist).  Our camp staff is assisted by a team of specially trained "Music Buddies" who are students from our orchestra programs who volunteer their time (and love it!) to help our students with special needs have maximum fun and success at camp! This year's theme is "Under The Big Top"!   Our typical day includes music activities designed to help build social skills, music and movement activities, basic music skills activities, and craft.

*We understand grade levels for students with special needs vary and are not necessarily related to ages.  We are mostly concerned that students have already had some sort of group/class experience before joining us.   Our youngest students are generally 7ish and our oldest are generally 18ish.

COST:
  •  $125 includes a camp shirt!
  • DDA Payment accepted!   MVYSO is an approved respite care provider for students with DDA Waivers.  Your tuition could be covered!  Check with your caseworker!
