Beginning Strings
This class is for the budding musician who would like to learn to play the violin, viola or cello. (K-3 violin only)
WHO: K-3rd Grade class and 4th grade & up class
WHEN: Mondays 4:15 - 5:00 p.m. K-3 Class (Violin Only)
5:00 - 6:00 p.m. 4th grade & up class
COST: $150 per trimester
Debut Orchestra
This is a first year group experience, open to students who pay string, brass, woodwind or percussion instruments. This is for students who are new to playing separate parts in a music ensemble. The music and curriculum are geared toward building confidence and skill in playing and performing in a group setting.
WHO: students with 1-3 years of playing experience
WHEN: Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm
COST: $150 per trimester
Philharmonia Orchestra
This ensemble is for the developing musician with about 2-4 years of playing experience who are familiar with playing an independent part in a music ensemble. The music and curriculum are geared toward nurturing skills like excellent tone, musical phrasing, musical stamina and dynamic contrast, playing comfortably in flat and sharp key signatures, and more complex rhythm patterns.

WHEN: Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm
COST: $170 per trimester
Junior Symphony Orchestra
This orchestra (new in 2012-2013 season) is for the more advanced student. The music and curriculum are designed to help students gain the skills and confidence necessary to tackle advanced music.
WHO: students who have played 3-5 years & can play at the level of all-state junior high audition requirements
WHEN: Mondays 6:00-8:00pm
COST: $170 per trimester
Symphony Orchestra
This orchestra is for the most advanced musician looking to be musically challenged with exciting performance opportunities. Students perform orchestral works from composers like Beethoven, Dvorak, Haydn, Mozart, Mussorgsky and Tchaikovsky.
WHO: students who have played 4+ years
WHEN: Mondays 7:00-9:00pm
COST: $190 per trimester
Advanced Ensembles
Both advanced ensembles play extra performances in the community with a music repertoire beyond the Symphony Orchestra.
The WIND ENSEMBLE is highly qualified Symphony Orchestra winds, brass and percussion who are interested in the art and skill of chamber ensemble playing.
The STRING SINFONIETTA is highly qualified Symphony strings who are interested in string quartet and string orchestra music.

COST: Additional $50 per trimester
Summer Stock
Summer stock orchestra is open by invitation to Jr. Symphony and Symphony Orchestra players who display exemplary musicianship skills and work ethic during the regular season and who are able to commit to the Summer Stock rehearsal and performance requirements. Summer stock performances include: National Anthem at Tacoma Rainier's Game, One day bus tour, Maple Valley Creative Arts Festival Gala, Opening Day for Maple Valley Farmer's Market, and Lake Wilderness 4th of July Fireworks show.
WHO: Jr. Symphony and Symphony Students by invitation
WHEN: Rehearsals are Mondays 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. (Jr Symphony) and 7:00 - 9:00 (Symphony)
COST: Approx $275 (includes bus tour and Rainer's ticket) additional $26 may be required for uniform polo if needed.
