Audition Information
Audition Requirements 
Debut, Philharmonia & Junior Symphony Orchestras

Student should prepare two (2) minutes from a solo piece and will be asked to play a brief 
sight-reading.

A resource for solo music for string players is an appropriate level Suzuki book.

Resources for solo music for winds, brass and percussion are Classic Festival Solos from Alfred Publishing or Concert and Contest Collections from Rubank.

JUNIOR SYMPHONY WIND & BRASS CANDIDATES should be prepared to play a 2-octave scale in keys of up to 3 sharps or flats.

JUNIOR SYMPHONY STRING CANDIDATES should be prepared to play a 2-octave scale in keys of up to 3 sharps or flats. 
Audition Requirements 
 Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble & String Sinfonietta

Symphony audtitions will have these elements
1. two (2) minutes from a standard solo like a sonata or concerto
2. prepared excerpts from the SYMPHONY AUDITION PDF selection below
3. brief sight-reading
4. prepared scales specified on the SYMPHONY AUDITION PDF from the selection below

Solo music for an audition should always reflect your highest level of skill and preparation. It is a snapshot image of your physical control of tone, pitch accuracy, rhythmic accuracy and ability to create a musical phrase.

$10 no-show fee will be billed to you if you miss your audtion
