It's Simple!

To Join before the Season Starts on September 13, 2011:

1. Prepare your 2 minute audition piece. Go to our

audition page to read more about auditions and

click on the link below

2. During your audition you will play your audition piece and be asked to sight read.

3. You will be placed in either Debut, Philharmonia, or Symphony Orchestra based on your ability and the instrumentation needs of our ensembles.

4. Come to our Orientation and General Meeting on September 12 (Philharmonia and Symphony Orchestras) or September 28(Debut Orchestrra).

5. Start rehearsing and enjoying the music making process!

To Join After the Season Starts:

1. Call our Executive Director, Elisa Lewis at (425) 358-1640 or email elisa@mvyso.org to arrange to visit the appropriate group for your playing level.

2. At your first rehearsal:

You are encouraged to sit in your section

You must observe the entire rehearsal

You will receive parent and student handbooks. Please read them before your next rehearsal and have all paperwork complete.

Set up an audition (2 minute solo that reflects your ablilities) with the conductor. There will be a $10 audition fee payable at your audition.

3. At your Second rehearsal (after your audition):

Please bring all paperwork completely filled out.

If you need tuition assistance, please bring tuition assistance form completed

You may play your instrument in your assigned seat in your assigned group

*Mid-term joiners will be accepted for first and second trimesters only at the discretion of the conductor as to when it is most appropriate for the group as a whole. Tuition may be prorated based on date you are joining.
